TORONTO — Following a solid performance in her rookie campaign, the Toronto Six have re-signed defender Taylor Davison to a Premier Hockey Federation contract for the 2022-23 season, her second with the franchise.
“Coming into this league and for my first year, I couldn’t be happier playing for the Toronto Six,” the defender said. “Everyone on the team wanted to play for each other, we meshed really well as a group, and overall, it was just a really fun year. That’s why I was so excited that I got a contract to play again for the following year and be on the team again. Being able to play so close to home was something I really enjoyed and another reason why I am so excited to re-sign with the Toronto Six.”

Quickly finding herself a mainstay on the team’s third pairing, Davison finished Season 7 with four points to her name, registering a single goal and three assists through 20 contests. Her contributions helped Toronto reach the Isobel Cup Semifinals in Wesley Chapel, where the Six fell 5-1 at the hands of the Boston Pride.
Capturing the attention of local fans with her elite skating skills and ability to move the puck, Davison was named to the PHF All-Star Showcase alongside the likes of six other Toronto Six invitees. Her play also landed her a nomination for the PHF’s Newcomer of the Year Award. The highest U SPORTS player ever selected in the PHF Draft process, Davison was chosen in the first-round (fifth overall) during the 2021 NWHL Draft. With her selection, she become the third of a record eight players taken by the organization.
Providing Toronto a reliable defender with offensive capabilities, Davison made the jump to professional hockey after playing collegiately for four years at York University. Competing with the U SPORTS Women’s hockey program, Davison, through 94 OUA games, registered 46 points, tallying 13 goals while adding 33 assists.

As a Sophomore in 2017-18, she finished as the second-highest scorer in both the goals and points categories. In her Senior year, Davison earned conference first-team all-star honours for the first time after finishing the season as the program’s leading scorer. She also won an OUA silver medal.
The Oakville native becomes the third player to sign with the Six for the 2022-23 season following captain Shiann Darkangelo and goaltender Elaine Chuli. Looking to build further on her first year achievements, Davison is looking forward to staying put with the Six and getting to work with the girls again. “I think just being back together with the group,” she said. “The group of girls we have is something special and it was so much fun, so I’m really looking forward to that.”
