SORARE NBA COST
How much does it cost to build a competitive Sorare NBA Team?
I have been asked this question so many times that I figured an article would help.
First off, you can play Sorare NBA for absolutely free. Here's a Sign up bonus link that will get you started with 20 Free Players including a Superstar of your choice.
Now generally when people ask me how much Sorare NBA costs to play. They are referring to the NFT competitions where every card has a cost. Like most any other Sports NFT project these Player Cards come in a number of Rarities. For this article I'll be referring to the least expensive NFTs in Sorare NBA, the Limited Level. If you aren't looking to invest a lot of money to begin with but want a reasonable chance at winning prizes then the Limited is where you'll want to be.
You can actually win prizes by playing the Free version of the game by using the link above but your chances are really slim. In my first Week of playing the Limited Level Contender tournament I won a Chris Paul Limited NFT. I could have sold it for $65 immediately after winning it but chose to keep it for a future lineup. I may never win a prize in the Free tournament but that won't stop me from trying every week.
In order to win the Chris Paul I finished in 77th. The way the prizes work is your final placing determines what tier of player NFT you could win. 77th qualifies for a Tier 2. Actually finishing anywhere between 11th and 300th wins a Tier two but the higher you finish the better player of that level you will get. My winning roster cost me $105. That's American dollars by the way. Now you could buy the minimum 5 players to fill a roster but I would suggest you buy more. Sorare NBA uses a Point Cap system. The Limited Contender Tournament I finished 77th has a 110 point Cap. Each player has a point value that's equal to the average points they accumulate based on their last 10 games. So their point values can change.
When you build your team you need to provide a little bit of flexibility in case some of your players increase in point value. That's why I think a Team with 7 players available is probably a good start. Keeping in mind that your roster requires 5 players with a maximum total value of 110 points. That's an average of 22 points per player. For that reason players with values between 15 and 30 provide you with the most flexibility.
Here is a sample list with current Market Values that I provided one of our Discord followers who's interested in joining Sorare NBA.
20 Precious Achiuwa $20
27 Keegan Murray $30
27 Marcus Smart $26
10 Keita Bates-Diop $7
23 Mason Plumlee $14
24 Seth Curry $14
These are 6 I selected based on a number of factors. I look for players who can occasionally have big games, and get a decent amount of minutes on the court. I left the 7th player up to him but warned him to make sure it could fit into a lineup. For instance If he added a 40 point player he couldn't build a 5 player lineup under the 110 Cap. He could add a 30 point player if he wanted to though.
This group of players is exactly what I would begin with if I started today. Can that roster win? It definitely has a chance. The Point Cap system actually favours a balanced roster because those are the players that generally have the most variance game to game.
All it takes is just a couple players to pop and exceed their 10 game average by enough to put you in the winners group. Don't be put off by a poor performance from any of your players. In fact it's an advantage to have your players lay an egg every now and then because it keeps their 10 game average lower than it maybe should be. Remember that variance is your friend.
Good Luck and have a fun time playing Sorare.
